De-Thatching
Thatch is a layer of built up grass clippings, roots, shoots and other dead organic matter that accumulates between the top-growth layer of your Lawn and the soil surface. An excess amount of thatch can hinder the absorption of air, water, and nutrients and negatively affect the overall health of your Lawn. De-Thatching, or the removal of some of this excess buildup, in the spring is an important preventative-maintenance tactic, opening this thatch layer up for better water and fertilizer uptake, helping to promote new and healthy shoot growth for a healthier, dense Lawn.
Shrub Bed Clean-Up
Why does it always seem like the shrub beds are the debris collection sites over the winter months? Not just unsightly, an abundance of uncleaned debris can delay the start-up growth of your shrubs, and potentially lead to disease pressure. We will clear out the dead leaf-litter, debris and garbage that has revealed itself after the snow-melt, allowing for the best possible initial shrub growth while having your shrub beds looking like they were freshly installed!
Over-Seeding Your Lawn
Over-seeding is recommended when a normally healthy Lawn starts showing signs of thinning out (formation of brown or bare spots throughout the turf) - this is common following a harsh winter that resulted in ice-damage to your Lawn. Using our unique seed blend typically used on golf-courses in Alberta, we can over-seed to bring back those bare spots, or over your entire Lawn to achieve a more lush & thick appearance to help prevent weed-establishment.
Start-Up Lawn Fertility
Our spring fertilizer applications use the highest quality products offering the best nutrient-available formulations for your Lawn's "Spring Start-up". With this being your Lawn's first feeding coming out of winter, this fertilizer application focuses on deep root growth to stand up to drought and heat stress during the summer growing months, along with promoting top growth and plant reproduction while also helping to prevent weed-establishment.
Spring Weed Control
Truthfully, weeds can be extremely frustrating - you can do all the proper preventative maintenance and they still show up unannounced. Proper Lawn Care is the best weed control method - our weekly routine maintenance, higher spring-mowing heights, fertility, and watering plans are designed to naturally prevent weed-establishment on your Lawn. Unfortunately, we did just mention that weeds can be frustrating, and sometimes that's just not enough. In this case, we offer both Pre and Post-Emergent Broadleaf Weed Control Applications using products that are 100% safe for your Lawn, but 100% harmful to dandelions, clover, and more.
Our Guarantee: Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither will a weed-free Lawn be. Dependent on the severity of weed-takeover on your property, multiple Weed Control Applications may be needed. However, if you are unhappy with the results of our Weed Control Applications (based on determinations made during a Pre-Service Consultation) the next one is on us.
All products are applied in accordance to Alberta Environment legislation and PMRA regulations by a licensed applicator.

Communication is key - we will always contact you if a postponement or rescheduling is required due to adverse weather conditions.
Weekly Mowing
The most basic of services can be the most important. Fall Aeration
Once again, thatch is a layer of built up grass clippings, roots, shoots and other dead organic matter that accumulates between the top-growth layer of your Lawn and the soil surface. An excess amount of thatch can hinder the absorption of air, water, and nutrients and negatively affect the overall health of your lawn. Fall Aeration is an important thatch-preventative practice that opens up the root-zone for better water and fertilizer uptake heading into the winter, while also alleviating the soil compaction from the summer months' activities.
